Kym Dreyer has been awarded a Life Fellow Membership of the Institute in recognition of his contribution to the advancement of the Institute and the profession over a period of 21 years.
Kym joined the Institute as a Provisional Associate in 1980, became an Associate in 1982 and was elevated to Fellow in 2007. He is also an Associate member of the REISA.
Kym studied for the Bachelor of Applied Science in Valuation at the SA Institute of Technology completing his Degree in 1979.
In 1980 he commenced employment was with the Hindmarsh Building and in July 1988 commenced self employment as Dreyer and Associates.
Initially he completed a variety of residential and commercial valuations on a contract basis for his previous employer. Kym also developed a portfolio of alternate clients requiring specialised consultancy and valuation work through all sectors of the real estate market.
Dreyer and Associates merged with Egan National Valuers in July 1997 with Kym as a joint Partner and Director. His valuation experience encompasses a broad range expertise in assessments of specialised industrial/commercial and retail properties, rental valuations, portfolio assessments, residential and commercial development projects and prestige residential properties.
Kym has served as a member of the South Australian Divisional Membership Applications and Complaints Committees, including terms as the chair of both committees. He has also been a member of the Divisional Professional Board.
Kym was invited to join Council in 1998 and was elected in 1999. Since 2007 he has continued his contribution as an additional member of Council by virtue of his role as the Division’s Representative to the National Professional Board.
During his term as an elected member of Council he held the position of Treasurer, Vice President and was Divisional President in 2006.
Kym has been a long term member of the Professional Interview Panel and has always been active in mentoring students and developing graduates.
Kym has served on the National Professional Board since 2004 and he was a member of the Future Property Professionals Taskforce.
